Probably because I never think about it. :) I test to make sure they work and then leave them be. It's a good thought, though.

Oh and the excerpts from the script were really interesting in certain parts. I love how Fly was described in the first issue of The Good Prince as looking like Alan Moore, because that is exactly what everyone thought upon seeing it :)

Dear Santa,

I've gotten socks for 17 years now. Please let this great collection of artworks be mine.

Sincerely,

Just got mine in from the states today (I'm all the way down here in Australia) - completely worth the wait, and definitely what I wanted for Christmas ^_^ People from the outside world may not see me until 2009 now, but it's totally worth it!

Best Collection
Fables: Covers by James Jean
Publisher: DC/Vertigo

It seems every year the comic book industry steps up its game when it comes to collections. First it was Marvel's fantastic hardcover binding. Then came DC's Absolute collections. Then the Omnibus… and so on. This year DC went one step further, collecting the exquisite Fables cover artwork of James Jean into an oversized tome. Though Fables fans are expected to be on board with this one, anyone who enjoys fine art would do well to look into this purchase. It showcases an often over-looked area of comics in a remarkable new way. If only more cover artists would receive the same attention…

I bought the covers book for myself for Christmas, and it is absolutely beautiful. I've shown it to a few people, all of which want to start reading Fables now! :D

Barnes and Nobles emailed me that they shipped mine. It's on its way and should soon be in my hands. I really can't wait to check this book out.

I got this book the week it came out, and I've been happily showing it to my friends, some of whom are regular comic book readers. The non-comic book people are now extremely interested in the series :D Oh and one of them said that the covers were really sexy, but she had a bit of a weird mood where she thought EVERYTHING was sexy

I'm really enjoying this book. I like the comments James makes about the trade covers, and I really like the little captions of either dialogue or descriptions. Also, the nice large pages help you really enjoy the art, there are some that you can see the brush strokes on them and that is my favorite part of all, it really helps you absorb and appreciate the work even more than on the comic itself.

Looks like we're all owners of a valuable book now. It sells for around $80 used. http://www.amazon.com/Fables-Covers-Jam ... 249&sr=8-1

I've got two valuable Fables items now. The Bigby & Snow White statue and this. That statue had a run of 400 units. I wonder how many Fables Covers books were printed.

That's interesting, as I would think there should be copies of the book in comic stores and such.

Probably more a case of people offering the book for outrageous amounts, in the hope that someone will take it off their hands.

That's what I thought, too.

But then I went and looked on eBay and saw two recently-concluded auctions where one copy sold for $55.00 after 10 bids and another copy sold for $69.97 after 6 bids.

It's a pain in the neck for me to sell things on the internet from Panama (for one, banks here don't work with Ebay), but if it were feasible logistically, you bet I would sell my copy for $80.
